Weekly Market Report: Week Ending March 17, 2024

  • New listings continue gain over last year. The Baltimore Metro service area had 809 listings for the week ending March 17. The gap continues to widen from last year’s numbers with an 3.9% increase from the same week in 2023. The MD/WV Panhandle and Del/Mar Coastal have experienced the greatest year-over-year gains by 38.7% and 41.9%, respectively, this week.

  • Median list price slightly below record high. List price continues to track above last year’s levels, with this week’s median list price exceeding last year’s by more than 10%.

  • New contracts just still below last year’s level. Higher mortgage rates have kept some buyers on the sidelines. However, new purchase contracts are up over 2% since last week.
